Service standard to get water supply, new customers are required to present what kind of documents to be eligible for commerce and industry customers
New water Connection
Quality 100% amount 12 mTo get water supply services, new customers are required to present the following documents to be eligible.
- Certificate of title dead original and photo copy if the property is owned by the customer; or
- Letter of collaboration if the property is rented from Rental Housing Agency or from Woreda; or
- Letter of representation if the property is owned by government or public institutions;
- Renewed customers identification card original and photo copy or letter of representation for representatives;
- Payment of service fee;
Expansion Areas with Water Supply Systems
Quality 100% amount 150 meter pipe line- In expansion and peripheral areas of the city where the water and water supply systems are available but requires design and pipe lying to extend the system, new connection time involves design and construction time as mentioned below.
- Secondary line 20 up to 110 mm 6 hour for 12 m pipe length;
- Secondary line if greater than 12 m connection time can be estimated with the following formula.
- Connection and pipe laying in hour = 5.92 + (L-12) x 0.132
- Where L is the length of the pipe
Expansion Areas without Water Supply Systems
This process may take a long time- This usually requires water supply source development which requires study, design and securing of finance for development. This process may take a long time. In such circumstances, customers are required to develop their own water supply sources such as digging of boreholes. AAWSA will give technical assistance in terms of water quality analyses and provision of technical specification for drilling.

- Requirements for New Connection
To get water supply and sewerage services, new customers are required to present the following documents to be eligible.
- Certificate of title dead original and photo copy if the property is owned by the customer; or

- Letter of representation if the property is owned by government or public institutions;

With in inner city
In the inner city water distribution network is available.
- The standard connection time is 6 hours or 0.74 day for 12 m pipe length.
